Subliminal Advertisement On Youtube

People hear all the time about subliminal advertising, how there is product placement in movies and in television shows. We go about our lives completely oblivious to the adds that are in front of us and we succumb to its power. It is most obvious to us when we choose Coke over Pepsi or vice versa depending on different people. It's fascinating how much power subliminal messages can have over us. Just recently I was looking for a documentary on Neanderthals and I came across a video on Youtube that seemed normal at first. It was a clip about Neanderthals from a BBC documentary, however three fourths of way into the clip a split second flash of a Dodge automobile logo popped up. At first I was surprised by the sudden change and didn't realize why I suddenly thought of Dodge. I then rewound the video to still frame the shot. With this I discovered the logo in its entirety. This led me to wonder whether or not this was some sort of new add campaign that companies were doing, where they were paying people to put up random video clips on Youtube with subliminal advertisements. I then figured that this also could be just something that Dodge was doing on tv because the documentary was a television show. Never the less this subliminal advertising worked, and gave me a better understanding of its power.
